Asifabad Government Nursing College principal suspended

Hyderabad: Authorities have suspended the principal of the Government Nursing College in Komaram Bheem Asifabad after officials found serious administrative lapses and received multiple complaints from students.

District Collector K Haritha ordered the suspension of principal B. Vinod following a surprise inspection of the college. During the visit, the collector found the principal absent from duty and the office locked.

Faculty members and students told officials that Vinod had not attended official duties since January 29. They also said she left Asifabad without taking prior permission from the authorities.

Inspection reveals academic lapses and poor living conditions

The collector said academic classes had not begun despite the academic year starting in December 2025. Students and staff confirmed the delay during the inspection.

Officials found that students were living in unhygienic conditions. They also reported that the hostel served poor-quality food.

Students complained that the principal forced them to do cleaning work and personal chores. They also alleged pressure to feed and care for stray dogs and cats.

The inspection team further found CCTV cameras installed inside the girls’ hostel. Students said the cameras caused distress and discomfort.

Suspension to continue till inquiries conclude

Based on these findings, the district administration suspended B. Vinod with immediate effect. The suspension will continue until disciplinary proceedings and any related criminal cases conclude.

The collector directed the suspended principal to remain at the district headquarters. She also barred her from leaving without prior approval.
