Hyderabad: Telangana DGP CV Anand said strong training formed the foundation for a successful police career. During the CV Anand police training session, he urged young officers to develop discipline, commitment, leadership skills and ethical values.
The DGP held a face-to-face interaction with 112 probationary DSPs undergoing training at the RBVRR Telangana Police Academy today. The session lasted around 90 minutes.
CV Anand discussed police leadership, professional responsibilities, ethics and the importance of dealing with the public appropriately. He urged the probationary officers to approach their duties with discipline and commitment.
He said holding a position did not automatically make a person a leader. Instead, effective leadership required courage, clear vision, integrity, values, team spirit and an impartial approach.
The DGP also stressed effective communication, technological knowledge and humility. He advised young officers to give particular importance to ethical standards during their service.
He warned that even small mistakes could affect an officer’s reputation in the future. Therefore, he urged the trainees to remain careful in their conduct and professional decisions.
CV Anand police training focuses on human approach and fitness
CV Anand said knowledge of the law alone could not make an effective police officer. In addition, officers needed leadership qualities, a humane approach, investigation skills, technological awareness and physical fitness.
He said protecting people and ensuring timely justice should remain the ultimate goals of policing. The professional course at the academy will run for 10 months under Director Abhilash Bisht.
The training programme gives equal importance to indoor and outdoor sessions. Meanwhile, the DGP stressed the importance of sports for police personnel who perform demanding duties under pressure.
He advised every police officer to spend at least one hour each day on sports or physical exercise. Regular physical activity, he said, was essential for maintaining physical and mental well-being.
On the occasion, CV Anand presented medals and prizes to winners of the 5th Telangana Police Sports and Games Meet-2026, Cluster-C.
He said the cluster system had created sports opportunities for more personnel. Furthermore, the police department would encourage talented sportspersons to progress to the national level.
