Hyderabad: Telangana is taking special measures to position Hyderabad as a national and international hub for gaming, VFX and animation, Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju said. He said the State Government was acting on the directions of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy.
Meanwhile, Sanjay Jaju reviewed preparations for the Telangana Global Summit at the Dr B.R. Ambedkar Telangana State Secretariat. The summit will take place in December at Bharat Future City in Hyderabad.
Joint Secretary, IT Department, Anudeep Durishetty, and senior officials attended the review meeting. The Chief Secretary said the summit formed part of Telangana’s efforts to achieve a $1 trillion economy.
As part of the summit, the government plans special programmes to attract globally recognised companies from animation, gaming, VFX and other creative and entertainment sectors. In addition, these initiatives will facilitate the establishment of their centres in Hyderabad.
Hyderabad gaming VFX animation push gets Global Summit platform
Under the theme “Stories, Games & Dreams”, the summit will feature programmes aimed at engaging and inspiring young people. In addition, a Comic, Gaming & VFX Business Day will form part of the event.
Furthermore, Comic Con, DreamHack and India Game Utsav will be organised alongside a B2B Expo, Innovation Zone and animation stalls. These events will provide platforms to showcase technology, innovations, investment opportunities and business prospects.
The programmes will also support the State’s efforts to expand Hyderabad’s creative and entertainment ecosystem. At present, Hyderabad has around 50 large and nearly 150 medium-sized animation and gaming companies, Sanjay Jaju said.
Therefore, the State Government is taking steps to attract more global companies and create additional opportunities for young people in these emerging sectors.
Meanwhile, students from schools and colleges across Hyderabad will get an opportunity to experience the summit’s programmes and exhibits. Organisers are making arrangements for students from around 70 colleges and nearly 50,000 visitors to participate.
In addition, the initiatives aim to promote creativity and skills among young people. The State Government also seeks to develop Hyderabad as a global centre for creative and entertainment industries.
