Bike theft gang busted in Medchal, vehicles worth ₹50 lakh recovered

Hyderabad: Medchal police arrested two members of a bike theft gang operating in the Cyberabad Commissionerate limits and recovered vehicles worth ₹50 lakh.

Addressing a press conference at the Medchal Police Station, ACP Shankar Reddy said the team intensified efforts following a spike in vehicle thefts in the area. As part of the crackdown, police arrested two suspects who confessed to 18 bike thefts during interrogation.

Of the total, 15 cases were reported in Medchal, two in Dundigal, and one in Pet-Basheerabad. Police booked the accused under BNS Section 303(2). Two other members of the gang are currently absconding.

The seized property includes 12 Royal Enfield bikes, five Pulsar bikes, one FZ bike, one silver kumkuma container, one wire cutter, a mask, and three mobile phones.

Police launched a search to trace the absconding suspects. Officials urged the public to park vehicles in secure locations and to alert police immediately if they spot any suspicious activity.

ACP Reddy commended SHO Satyanarayana, DI Kiran Kumar, and SI Naveen of Medchal Police Station for their swift handling of the investigation.
