Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka assured small contractors that the state government would continue supporting them and clear pending bills in phases.
Representatives of the Builders Association of India and civil contractors met the Deputy Chief Minister at Praja Bhavan.
During the meeting, they urged the government to release pending payments.
In response, Bhatti Vikramarka said the government was addressing their concerns with a humanitarian approach.
He added that the Finance Department has been releasing payments regularly every month.
As a result, many contractors have received financial relief.
The Deputy Chief Minister said the government has prepared a clear plan to clear pending dues.
Furthermore, he assured the delegation that the government would continue supporting small contractors.
He also promised to settle all eligible pending bills in a phased manner.
Earlier, contractor representatives met Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy.
Later, they briefed Bhatti Vikramarka on the outcome of those discussions.
Small contractors welcome government’s assurance
Builders Association of India state chairman Ravinder Reddy welcomed the assurance given by the Deputy Chief Minister.
Consequently, he announced the postponement of the proposed Chalo Hyderabad programme scheduled for June 18.
He said the association was satisfied with the government’s response to its concerns.
Moreover, Ravinder Reddy thanked Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka and R&B Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy for their support.
Meanwhile, association leaders reiterated their demand for early clearance of pending bills.
National Vice-President V. Satyamurthy, former national president S.N. Reddy, former vice-president D.V.N. Reddy and other association members attended the meeting.
