Hyderabad: Police conducted a Bakrid celebrations coordination meeting in Jubilee Hills zone to ensure the peaceful conduct of the festival and issued directives to multiple departments.
The meeting took place at Madhura Nagar Community Hall under the chairmanship of DCP A Ramana Reddy. Additional DCP K Srikanth, GHMC Deputy Commissioner A Suresh, and other officials attended, along with around 200 stakeholders.
Officials from police, GHMC, animal husbandry, veterinary, and transport departments participated. Cattle transporters, members of the Qureshi community, and beef shop owners also attended.
Bakrid celebrations coordination meeting focuses on enforcement and sanitation
During the Bakrid celebrations coordination meeting, officials stressed the need for coordination among departments. The DCP asked police, GHMC, and veterinary teams to work together for smooth management.
Authorities directed checkposts to operate in three shifts to monitor animal movement. Meanwhile, officials instructed transporters to carry valid veterinary certificates and transport documents.
They warned against illegal transport, sale, or slaughter of cows and calves. In addition, officials said strict action would follow any violations.
GHMC officials were asked to ensure sanitation and proper waste disposal. Police also outlined traffic regulation measures to prevent congestion during the festival.
Further, officials urged all stakeholders to maintain communal harmony and cooperate with authorities. They emphasised adherence to animal welfare norms during celebrations.
The meeting ended with departments and community leaders committing to ensure peaceful and law-compliant Bakrid celebrations.
