Hyderabad: The Nampally Criminal Court summoned actor Allu Arjun and other accused in the Sandhya Theatre Stampede Case and directed them to appear in person before the court on Monday.
The court took cognizance of the police charge sheet filed in connection with the stampede that occurred during the premiere of Pushpa 2: The Rule at Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad. Investigators named 23 individuals as accused in the case. Among them, Allu Arjun was listed as accused number 11.
Sandhya Theatre Stampede Case enters trial stage
According to the investigation, a huge crowd gathered for the film premiere. Authorities alleged that inadequate crowd-control and security arrangements contributed to the stampede. The incident resulted in the death of a woman. In addition, several other people sustained injuries.
After reviewing the charge sheet, the court issued summons to Allu Arjun and 19 other accused. The list includes members of the theatre management and event organisers. The case involves allegations related to negligence and lapses in public safety measures.
The court’s action marked a significant development in the proceedings. Consequently, the case has now moved into the trial stage. The summons require all accused persons to appear before the court as directed. Therefore, attention has turned to whether Allu Arjun and the other accused will attend the hearing on Monday.
