Hyderabad: Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy said PM-VBRY Employment Opportunities are helping create jobs for first-time workers and strengthen formal sector employment across the country.
Speaking at a PM-VBRY programme at RTC Kala Bhavan in Hyderabad on Thursday, Kishan Reddy said India’s youth workforce would play a key role in achieving the country’s development goals by 2047.
He described the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana as a major initiative designed to support employment generation and workforce formalisation.
PM-VBRY Employment Opportunities target young workforce
Kishan Reddy said more than 3.45 crore young people joined the formal workforce between 2020 and 2025. He also noted that nearly 80 lakh youth enter the job market every year. Therefore, he said the government launched several measures to create additional employment opportunities.

PM-VBRY Employment Opportunities support workers and employers
Under the scheme, eligible first-time employees can receive a one-time incentive of up to Rs.15,000. At the same time, employers receive financial support to expand their workforce and generate additional jobs. Kishan Reddy said the programme would improve worker welfare and strengthen cooperation between industry and employees.
Moreover, he highlighted the Centre’s labour reforms and skill development initiatives. He said these efforts are helping Indian youth gain greater recognition in the global workforce. The Minister added that PM-VBRY Employment Opportunities would contribute to long-term economic growth while creating sustainable employment avenues for young people.
