Hyderabad: Shamshabad police arrested two persons in connection with an air gun attack that left a man seriously injured following a dispute over auto fare near Narkuda.
ACP Srikanth Goud revealed details of the case on Thursday night. The incident occurred when Sameer Das, along with his son-in-law Pintu Hathi and a group of friends, were near Narkuda in Shamshabad. A quarrel broke out with two occupants of an auto over fare charges. In the altercation, one of the men fired at Sameer Das with an air gun, causing serious injuries.
Attackers threatened more violence before fleeing
The attackers allegedly threatened to shoot the rest of the group as well, prompting them to flee. Police were informed immediately and rushed to the spot.
ACP Goud stated that Pasumalla alias Gudula Chandu Goud fired the air gun, while his associate Turpati Krishna alias Ramu snatched a mobile phone from the victims and fled.
Police arrest accused, recover air gun within 24 hours
Acting on instructions from ACP Srikanth Goud, Shamshabad Inspector Narender Reddy and SOT detectives launched a swift operation. Both suspects were apprehended within 24 hours of the incident. Police also seized the air gun used in the attack.
The accused were remanded to judicial custody. ACP Goud commended the police team for the prompt arrests and efficient handling of the case.
