Yudhvir Foundation award for Dr Gayatri Palat

Hyderabad: The Yudhvir Foundation award will be presented to Dr Gayatri Palat in recognition of her contributions to palliative care and efforts to alleviate human suffering.

The award will be conferred by Telangana Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla on April 30 at KLN Prasad Auditorium, FTCCI, Red Hills. The honour carries a citation and a cash prize of ₹1 lakh.

Dr Gayatri Palat, who holds an MD degree, has been recognised for her sustained work in improving care for patients with serious illnesses. The award acknowledges her role in advancing palliative care practices and supporting patients and families.

The Yudhvir Foundation instituted the award as part of its efforts to honour individuals contributing to social service and human development.

The foundation was established on April 10, 1991, in memory of the late Yudhvir, a journalist and social worker known for his contributions to public life. He was also associated with causes related to national integration, culture, and social welfare.

The organisation aims to promote its ideals and recognise individuals who contribute to fields such as literature, social service, and public welfare. The trustees include Aruna Bahuguna (Chairperson), Amer Ali Khan, Tarun Kumar Jhawar, Nitin Bajaj, and Vipma Vir.

The 33rd edition of the Yudhvir Foundation award continues the tradition of recognising contributions across diverse fields of human endeavour.
