Vivek slams BRS for halting women’s loans, launches ₹47 crore tech centre in Chennur

Hyderabad: Telangana Labour Minister Gaddam Vivek Venkataswamy on Monday blamed the previous BRS government for stopping interest-free loans to women’s self-help groups, openly criticizing the BRS as Vivek slams the former ruling party for this policy reversal. He said it also failed to release funds during the Covid-19 crisis.

Vivek visited Chennur and performed Bhoomi Pooja for a ₹47.11 crore Advanced Technology Centre (ATC). At the same event, he handed over ₹9 crore in cheques to SHG members. He said the ATC would train local youth and help them secure jobs.

Development gains momentum in Chennur

Vivek accused the earlier government of ignoring essential infrastructure like roads and drains, and again leveled criticism similar to how Vivek slams BRS over past neglect. He said he walked through the constituency to hear people’s problems directly. Since taking office, he claimed to have curbed sand, rice, and land mafias.

He noted that ₹76 lakh in interest-free loans had already reached local SHGs. Development projects worth ₹40 crore are ongoing, he added. Vivek also announced several new initiatives, including an RTC depot, direct bus services to Hyderabad, a petrol pump for women, a 100-bed hospital, and a ₹250 crore integrated school in Somanapalli.

District In-charge Minister Jupally Krishna Rao also spoke at the event. He criticised former CM KCR for creating a debt burden of ₹8 lakh crore. Jupally highlighted progress under the Congress and urged party workers to ensure wins in the upcoming municipal polls.
