Urban development in Telangana possible only under Congress: Sridhar Babu

Hyderabad: IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu on Friday said urban development in Telangana can move forward only under Congress leadership. He made this statement while campaigning in Tandur, Vikarabad, and Chevella municipalities, which fall under the Chevella Lok Sabha constituency.

Appealing to voters, Sridhar Babu urged them to give Congress a decisive mandate in the upcoming municipal elections. He said the state government is determined to revive municipalities that faced long-term neglect.

Congress drives civic improvements and fiscal balance

Sridhar Babu emphasised that the Revanth Reddy-led government is actively developing urban civic infrastructure through well-planned projects. At the same time, the administration is working to stabilise the state’s finances while rolling out welfare schemes.

“We are executing pre-election promises in a phased and structured manner,” he said. “Our focus remains on improving the lives of farmers, women, and youth through targeted initiatives.”

He also stressed that Congress aims to improve urban living standards through better services and inclusive development.

Government delivers jobs, prepares youth for industry

Citing key accomplishments, Sridhar Babu said the government has filled more than 70,000 jobs through Group 1 to Group 4 recruitments. He noted that those who received appointment orders are already contributing to the state’s progress.

In addition, the state is running skilling, re-skilling, and up-skilling programs to prepare young people for current industrial needs. “Our youth will form a ready-to-work talent pool aligned with future opportunities,” he said.

Minister says Telangana is emerging as a model state

Sridhar Babu described Telangana as a state quickly becoming a model for others across multiple sectors. However, he cautioned that some groups are spreading misinformation to undermine the government’s achievements.

“Public response during our campaign gives us confidence about winning the municipal elections,” he added.

Earlier, he inspected arrangements for the upcoming ‘Praja Palana – Pragathi Bata’ public meeting scheduled in Parigi on Saturday.

MLAs T. Rammohan Reddy and B. Manohar Reddy, district Congress presidents Challa Narsimha Reddy and Dharasingh, along with other senior party leaders, joined the campaign meetings.
