Hyderabad: BRSV state vice-president Tunga Balu demanded the immediate release of about Rs 12,000 crore in pending fee reimbursement dues in Telangana.
He also sought the immediate release of the Rs 1,000 crore announced by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for Osmania University.
Balu unveiled a poster for a BRSV protest rally on the issue. He called on students and others to make the protest programme on October 29 a success.
The BRSV leader also demanded the filling of teaching and non-teaching posts across all universities in Telangana. He sought better infrastructure at the institutions.
According to Balu, the Congress had made several promises to unemployed youth during the elections. However, he alleged that the government had ignored those commitments after coming to power.
He recalled promises to issue a job calendar every year and fill two lakh government posts. The Congress had also promised unemployment assistance and transparent recruitment to all vacant government posts, he said.
Balu said those commitments had not yet been implemented. He also criticised the government over delays in recruitment.
Fee reimbursement dues and recruitment delays
Balu said the government had promised to speed up recruitment for Group-I, Group-II, Group-III and Group-IV posts. The commitments also covered DSC, police and medical and health department recruitments, he said.
However, he alleged that recruitment had faced prolonged delays. He also pointed to uncertainty over examinations and frequent changes to schedules.
In addition, Balu alleged that the government had failed to fill vacant posts promptly. These issues had created concern among lakhs of unemployed youth about their future, he said.
He criticised the government for disappointing candidates who had spent years preparing for government jobs.
