Hyderabad: A Medipally jewellery shop suffered a burglary in the early hours of Monday. Unidentified burglars reportedly stole diamond ornaments worth more than Rs 2 crore.
The shop belongs to CaratLane Diamonds and stands along the Hyderabad–Warangal National Highway. Medipally police have jurisdiction over the area in Medchal-Malkajgiri district.
According to preliminary information, the burglars bent the shop’s shutter and entered the premises. They then smashed the glass display cases and took away diamond jewellery.
However, officials have not yet confirmed the exact value of the stolen ornaments.
After receiving information about the burglary, Medipally police reached the store. Officers inspected the premises and examined the scene.
Meanwhile, a clues team collected evidence from the shop. Police have also begun examining CCTV footage and other available evidence.

Police are studying CCTV footage to establish how the suspects reached the shop. Investigators are also tracing the route the burglars took after leaving the premises.
In addition, officers are examining other evidence to identify the suspects. They have launched efforts to trace those involved in the burglary.
