TPCC chief rejects BRS conspiracy claim in phone tapping probe

Hyderabad: TPCC President Mahesh Kumar Goud on Friday rejected BRS allegations that the ongoing phone tapping investigation is politically motivated. He clarified that the inquiry into the TPCC chief phone tapping allegations is proceeding under constitutional norms without bias.

Speaking at the Congress Legislative Party (CLP) office in the Assembly, Goud said the Congress government would have taken action immediately after assuming power if the goal had been revenge. “We didn’t because the process must follow the law, not political agendas,” he noted, referencing how even complex issues such as the TPCC chief’s phone tapping investigation are being handled with due process.

Goud defends probe, accuses BRS of hypocrisy and corruption

Responding to BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao’s claims of personal targeting, Goud called the statements laughable. He advised KTR to reflect seriously on the issue rather than shift blame. He also accused former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao’s family of systemic corruption. For example, matters like TPCC chief and phone tapping controversies underscore shortcomings in governance. “The BRS today resembles Ali Baba and the 40 thieves a gang of thieves from Stuartpuram,” he said.

Goud questioned how KTR could claim victimhood while his own sister, K. Kavitha, publicly admitted her phone had been tapped. He pointed out that the TPCC chief phone tapping scenario highlights the wider problem. “The issue is grave. Comparing it to agitation-related cases trivialises its seriousness,” he said.

He further revealed that security officials tapped his own phone on suspicion of Naxalite links. “What justification is there for tapping phones of film stars?” he asked, slamming the widespread misuse associated with affairs such as TPCC chief phone tapping scandals.

Moreover, Goud criticised Union Minister Bandi Sanjay for siding with the BRS. He demanded to know why authorities have not yet taken action against KCR’s family over alleged irregularities in the Kaleshwaram project, despite public and political pressure. Clearly, accountability is key in all matters, especially issues like the TPCC chief and alleged phone tapping.
