Three Telangana workers among seven killed in Dubai road accident

Hyderabad: Three workers from Telangana were among seven people killed in a Dubai road accident after a minibus crashed into a truck on Emirates Road, one of the busiest highways in the UAE.

The accident occurred on Monday and left several passengers injured.

Authorities said five victims suffered serious injuries.

Another four passengers sustained moderate injuries.

Dubai road accident claims lives of Jagtial workers

Abdul Rafiq from Metpalli mandal, Sayed Saleem from Kodimial mandal and Gajula Tirupati from Mallial mandal in Jagtial district died in the accident.

Mohammed Sayeed from Hyderabad suffered injuries in the crash.

Sources said doctors were treating him at a local hospital and his condition was stable.

All the victims worked for an aluminium glass and door frame company based in Sharjah.

An Indian entrepreneur from Kerala owns the company.

According to Dubai Police, a technical fault forced the truck to stop in the middle of the road.

Preliminary investigations indicated that the minibus driver failed to maintain a safe distance.

As a result, the driver could not stop the vehicle in time and crashed into the truck.

Police also said the driver reportedly failed to pay adequate attention before the collision.

Meanwhile, the Indian Consulate contacted the families of the deceased and extended assistance.

A team of consular officials also visited the hospital and met the survivors.

The officials gathered details about the incident and reviewed the condition of the injured.

Authorities are yet to release further details.
