Hyderabad: The Telangana Human Rights Commission directed the Telangana DGP to submit reports on complaints alleging caste abuse and misconduct towards women police personnel.
The TGHRC, headed by Chairperson Justice Shameem Akther, examined two complaints concerning alleged incidents on September 7. Subsequently, the Commission sought detailed reports from the Director General of Police in both matters.
In the first complaint, Pilli Sudhakar and others from Jathiya Mala Mahanadu raised allegations against BRS MLC Tata Madhusudhan. They accused him of publicly abusing Telangana Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad in vulgar language.
The complainants noted that Prasad belonged to the Dalit community. Moreover, they alleged caste-related misconduct during a Dalit protest in Siddipet district.
TGHRC DGP reports sought over Erravelli allegations
The protest took place outside former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao’s farmhouse at Erravelli. According to the complaint, BRS leader Pavani Goud and others sprinkled turmeric water and milk after the protest.
The complainants alleged that those involved carried out the act to “purify” the area. They also accused them of using derogatory expressions against the Dalit protesters. The Commission considered the material placed before it and sought a report from the Telangana DGP on the allegations.
In a separate complaint, Indira Shoban raised allegations concerning a protest at the Telangana Legislative Assembly. She complained about the conduct of some BRS MLAs in the presence of women police personnel.
According to Shoban, some MLAs removed their black T-shirts and stood half-naked while women police personnel performed duty at the protest.

Shoban alleged that the conduct caused embarrassment and mental distress to the women police personnel. She further claimed that the incident humiliated personnel deployed for duty at the Assembly.
After examining the available material, the Commission sought the second report from the Telangana DGP. The TGHRC DGP reports would cover both complaints placed before the Commission. The Commission scheduled both matters for further consideration on October 9, 2026.
