Hyderabad: BRS working president K. T. Rama Rao demanded a comprehensive probe into the Tesseract land allotment, involving nearly five acres of government land valued at around ₹200 crore.
Addressing the media at the BRS headquarters in Hyderabad on Tuesday, KTR alleged that the land went to Tesseract Advanced Systems, a company he said was linked to Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s brother, Anumula Kondal Reddy.
KTR questioned how a company with a paid-up capital of ₹1 lakh and zero employees could receive such a valuable government parcel.
According to the details cited by KTR, Tesseract had zero employees as of March 31, 2025. Its paid-up capital stood at ₹1 lakh.
The BRS leader said the nearly five-acre property had an estimated value of around ₹200 crore. He claimed the company received the land for about ₹7 crore at a rate of nearly ₹3,700 per square yard.
“How can a company with zero employees and ₹1 lakh paid-up capital get five acres of government land worth ₹200 crore? Is this not a scam?” KTR asked.
He demanded that the Telangana government release all documents connected with the Tesseract land allotment. These should include the Government Order, land valuation, eligibility conditions, investment proposal and employment commitments.
KTR also sought details of officials involved in the decision-making process. He said the government should place the complete transaction record in the public domain.
Tesseract land allotment questioned over company credentials
KTR questioned Minister D. Sridhar Babu’s claim that Kondal Reddy had no connection with Tesseract. He referred to Kondal Reddy’s LinkedIn profile and said the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum had identified him as Chairman of Tesseract Advanced Systems.
The BRS working president said his party would approach the Telangana Governor with a formal complaint. If necessary, the BRS would also move the Lokayukta and courts, he said.
KTR said the party would continue pursuing the matter until the facts emerged and those responsible faced accountability.
He also raised questions about other alleged business, land and contract transactions involving members of the Chief Minister’s family. KTR demanded a comprehensive examination of those transactions as well.
The BRS leader linked the land issue to wider concerns over the use of government resources. He called for scrutiny of the decision-making process and the benefits extended to private entities.
KTR also turned his attention to Telangana’s irrigation issues. He demanded that the State government boycott the Godavari River Management Board meeting if the proposed cancellation of approvals for seven Telangana projects remained on its agenda.
KTR warns of Jala Udyamam over irrigation projects
KTR warned that the BRS would launch a “Jala Udyamam” in Telangana if the issue remained on the GRMB agenda. He said the party would intensify its agitation to defend the State’s irrigation rights.
He also criticised Congress and BJP MPs from Telangana for failing to strongly raise the State’s demand for national status for the Palamuru-Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Scheme in Parliament.
“8 + 8 = 0,” KTR said while referring to the eight Congress and eight BJP MPs from Telangana.
The BRS working president further demanded that the government immediately switch on the Narlapur and Kannepally pump houses.
He called for irrigation water to reach farmers and said the government should back prayers and rituals with concrete action on the ground.
KTR’s demands covered both the disputed land allotment and pending irrigation measures as the BRS sought action from the State government.
