Hyderabad: Telangana Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla urged wider outreach for PIB central schemes and welfare programmes. He stressed the need to ensure that every eligible beneficiary receives information about government initiatives.
The Governor made the remarks on Friday when a Press Information Bureau (PIB) delegation met him at Lok Bhavan. Additional Director General Shruti Patil led the delegation.
The team included PIB Joint Director Dr. Manas Krishnakanth and CBC Assistant Director K. Srinivasa Rao. During the meeting, the Governor stressed the importance of effective communication about government schemes.
Shukla said wider dissemination would help beneficiaries access and use government programmes effectively. He also emphasised the need to take information to people across the state.
PIB central schemes to get wider outreach in Telangana
Shruti Patil briefed the Governor on PIB and Central Bureau of Communication (CBC) activities in Telangana. These activities include media outreach, journalist press tours, Vartalaps and Integrated Communication and Outreach Programmes (ICOPs).
The programmes also cover rural areas, where officials seek to improve public awareness of government initiatives. Patil invited the Governor to attend a September ICOP focused on Poshan Abhiyaan as part of Poshan Maah.
The delegation also presented the Governor with publications on Mahatma Gandhi. It also gave him publications highlighting the achievements of the Government of India over the past 12 years.
Meanwhile, retired IAS officer Lalit Varma from Uttar Pradesh also met the Governor at Lok Bhavan. The source did not provide further details about their meeting.
