Telangana Special Lok Adalat settles over 42,000 cases across State

Hyderabad: Telangana courts held a Telangana Special Lok Adalat on Saturday and settled a large volume of pending matters across the State. Judges and legal services authorities coordinated statewide action to clear compoundable criminal cases, cheque bounce matters, and several other categories. The event followed directions issued by Chief Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh.

Under the leadership of Justice P. Sam Koshy and Justice K. Lakshman, officials worked with district units to set up dedicated benches. Teams in every court complex processed the referred matters. Moreover, staff engaged with litigants to speed up settlements. Consequently, coordinators in all districts reported steady progress throughout the day.

Settlements recorded in Telangana Special Lok Adalat

Officials counted 37,055 compoundable criminal case settlements. Additionally, they resolved 3,217 cheque bounce cases under the Negotiable Instruments Act. Courts also closed 1,889 other matters, including private complaints, domestic violence cases, maintenance claims, civil suits, and MVOP claims. Overall, 48,705 cases came before the Lok Adalat. Courts settled 42,063 of those cases by the end of the programme.

Earlier, authorities planned the event to reduce the pending load. They monitored each court cluster to ensure smooth conduct. Therefore, the State legal services network delivered a coordinated exercise. The figures reflected strong participation by litigants and legal representatives.
