National Lok Adalat to settle civil and compoundable criminal cases on June 20

Hyderabad: The National Lok Adalat will take place across Telangana on June 20 to facilitate the speedy settlement of civil and compoundable criminal cases.

The Telangana State Legal Services Authority (TSLSA) announced that courts from the High Court level to taluq courts will participate in the programme.

Additionally, the Lok Adalat will cover both pre-litigation and pending litigation matters.

Authorities will conduct the programme under the guidance of the Chief Justice and Patron-in-Chief of TSLSA and the Executive Chairman of the authority.

Meanwhile, litigants may participate through physical or virtual mode.

National Lok Adalat encourages amicable settlements

TSLSA said the initiative aims to resolve disputes through mutual agreement and reduce the burden on courts.

Moreover, the authority provides all Lok Adalat services free of cost.

Courts will refund court fees in pending cases if parties settle disputes through Lok Adalat.

Furthermore, Lok Adalat awards attain finality, and parties cannot file appeals against them.

Therefore, TSLSA urged people to use the mechanism to settle disputes without lengthy court proceedings.

People willing to resolve pending or pre-litigation matters may approach District Legal Services Authorities in their respective districts.

Alternatively, they may contact the nearest Mandal Legal Services Committee or court for assistance.

Finally, the authority said it has completed all arrangements for the National Lok Adalat scheduled across Telangana on June 20.
