Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court directed DGP CV Anand to identify police officers involved in the Assembly gate clash with BRS women MLAs.
The court said police had no evidence to show that the women MLAs behaved improperly with them.
The bench heard a case linked to the confrontation during the Telangana Assembly’s monsoon session. It also examined the conduct of police personnel during the incident.
The court asked the DGP to identify officers who allegedly misbehaved with and assaulted the BRS women legislators. It also directed him to prepare a detailed report on the incident.

The DGP must place the report before the Assembly Speaker. The report should help facilitate action against police personnel found responsible.
The court also clarified the Speaker’s role in the matter. If police acted on the Speaker’s instructions that day, the Speaker would have full authority over action against them, the bench said.
The bench modified its earlier interim orders while hearing the dispute. It considered the events involving BRS MLAs, MLCs and police personnel at the Assembly gates.
The court’s latest order focused on allegations against the police. It also rejected the police claim against the women MLAs for lack of supporting evidence.
The incident later became a subject of legal proceedings. The latest directions now require the DGP to identify the officers involved.
The court also asked him to submit the detailed report to the Assembly Speaker. The directions have triggered discussion in Telangana’s political circles.
