Taekwondo premier league poster unveiled in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: State Labour, Employment and Mines Minister G Vivek Venkatswamy unveiled the poster of the taekwondo premier league Season–2 (Leg One – Male) at The Park Hyderabad, reaffirming government support for the sport’s expansion in Telangana.

He said the taekwondo premier league would help identify top players for the Global International Premier League, scheduled in the Philippines from June 25 to 28. He also congratulated athletes and team owners who attended selections from across India.

The event drew key organisers, including Founder Director Ganesh Duvvuri, Co-Founder Bachu Navaneeth and Honorary Chairman Raunaq Yar Khan, along with team members.

Minister Vivek described taekwondo as a fast-growing modern sport that builds discipline. He compared its impact to karate and stressed the need to expand its reach.

Taekwondo Premier League to boost player selection

He praised the organisers for conducting the event efficiently. Moreover, he urged them to scale up promotion of the Premier League across the state.

The Minister added that he would take up the matter with State Sports Minister Vakiti Srihari to ensure stronger institutional support. He said coordinated efforts would help nurture talent and improve Telangana’s presence in international competitions.
