According to officials, the accused targeted the child as he was seen as an obstacle to the relationship. Town CI Narahari said the incident came to light after a complaint from the victim’s family.
The victim’s mother, Lakshmi, a resident of Rajampet in Kamareddy district, had been living separately from her husband due to disputes. She had been staying in Sriramnagar colony in Kamareddy town with her two children for the past few months.
Police said she had been in a live-in relationship for about six months with Lakshminarsimlu, a resident of Mandapur in Bibipet mandal. While her daughter, Sameera, stayed elsewhere, her son, Shravan, aged five, lived with her.
