Congress government public grievances focus, says Vivek Venkatswamy

Hyderabad: State Labour, Employment and Mines Minister G Vivek Venkatswamy said the Congress government had prioritised Congress public grievances as its central governance objective, stressing a people-focused approach.

He stated that support for the Congress party was rising steadily across Telangana. He also congratulated leaders and workers who joined the party from the BRS during the inauguration of the Congress office in Siddipet.

The Minister said the government had placed strong emphasis on women’s welfare and empowerment. He noted that around ₹9,000 crore had been spent over two years to provide free bus travel for women. In addition, ₹23,000 crore had been allocated for interest-free loans and bank linkage schemes to strengthen women’s financial independence.

He added that the interest-free loan initiative was introduced to boost economic security for women. Moreover, he said the upcoming budget would include pensions for 2 lakh additional beneficiaries.

Congress’s public grievances drive welfare and reforms

Criticising the previous BRS administration led by K Chandrashekar Rao, the Minister said a surplus state had been pushed into a debt burden of nearly ₹8 lakh crore. He pointed out that large sums were being spent monthly on interest payments.

He alleged that nearly ₹1 lakh crore had been wasted on the Kaleshwaram project, with about ₹20,000 crore still being paid as interest. He added that such funds could have been used to build 500-bed government hospitals in every constituency.

The Minister also claimed that hundreds of acres were encroached upon during the previous regime. On development, he said 3,500 Indiramma houses had already been sanctioned in Siddipet, and another 3,500 houses would soon be allotted to eligible beneficiaries.
