Singareni skill drive secures jobs for 112 youth in Telangana

Hyderabad: The Singareni skill drive has helped 112 candidates secure job offers through a placement programme at the GVTC Skill Development Centre in Ramagundam–1 Area. The Telangana government initiative aims to improve employment opportunities for young people in mining-affected areas.

Electronics manufacturer Foxconn interviewed 127 women candidates and selected 87 for assembly roles. They will work on Apple EarPods and electronic components at the company’s manufacturing facility in Hyderabad.

Meanwhile, the first batch of 55 women left Godavarikhani for Hyderabad on Sunday to begin their employment. Their departure marked the start of their new work assignments following the recruitment process.

In a separate selection process, 25 of the 27 male candidates interviewed secured positions as solar technicians. The technical interviews assessed candidates for roles in the solar energy sector.

Singareni skill drive expands employment opportunities

Deputy Chief Minister and Energy Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka launched the GVTC Skill Development Centre two years ago. The centre provides vocational training and placement support to young people from local communities.

Since its establishment, the facility has helped more than 500 candidates find employment. According to the source, the initiative has supported economic independence among women and young people across the coal belt.

The latest placements add to the centre’s employment efforts in mining-affected areas. Through industry-focused training and recruitment opportunities, the programme seeks to connect local youth with jobs in manufacturing and renewable energy.
