Shamshabad bus crash kills one, injures more than 50

Hyderabad: Shamshabad bus crash killed one person and injured more than 50 after a private travel bus rammed into a roadside hotel on Monday morning.

The bus lost control while trying to avoid an oncoming container. It then veered off the road and crashed into Balaji Bhavan Hotel.

At the time, a man was drinking tea inside the hotel. The bus struck him, killing him at the spot. Police identified the deceased as Ajmal, a resident of Karimnagar.

Several people suffered injuries in the accident. Following the crash, rescuers shifted more than 50 injured people to nearby hospitals for treatment.

Two of the injured were reportedly in critical condition. The impact also damaged three cars parked in front of the hotel.

Shamshabad bus crash follows attempt to avoid container

The bus belonged to Seven Hills Private Travels in Kishanguda. According to the details of the incident, the driver tried to avoid a container approaching from the opposite direction.

However, the driver lost control during the manoeuvre. As a result, the bus crashed into the hotel, causing the casualties and extensive damage.

The accident triggered panic in the area. Meanwhile, police registered a case and began investigating the incident.
