Hyderabad: The FSSAI licence of Shadab Hotel in Madina was suspended after a TG SAFE inspection detected multiple alleged food safety violations. Authorities also directed the hotel management to stop all business operations with immediate effect.
The Telangana Standards Authority for Food and Essential Drugs (TG SAFE) took the action following an inspection of the establishment. Officials reported deficiencies involving hygiene and sanitation.
Inspectors also detected violations concerning the storage of meat and other food items. Following the findings, authorities suspended the establishment’s food safety licence. The order means the hotel cannot continue business operations until permitted by the competent authorities.
Shadab Hotel licence suspended during special drive
The action came during a special food safety enforcement drive across Hyderabad’s core urban region. Nine teams comprising Food Safety Officers and police personnel participated in the inspections.
Altogether, the teams inspected 19 cafes and snack points. Officials reported violations ranging from expired food stock to cockroach infestation at establishments covered by the drive.
During the inspections, officials discarded perishable food that had been exposed to dust and flies. They also seized certain food products. In addition, inspectors collected samples and sent them for laboratory analysis.
Two cafes shut for operating without FSSAI licence
TG SAFE also shut down Dreamz Cafeteria in Bagh Lingampally and Asiatic Café in Panjagutta. Officials found that both establishments were allegedly operating without a valid FSSAI licence or registration. Consequently, authorities ordered them to close.
Meanwhile, TG SAFE issued notices to several other establishments over violations identified during the inspections. Officials said further action would be determined based on inspection reports and subsequent follow-up inspections.
