Shabad murder accused Raj Kumar found dead near Kothur

Hyderabad: The Shabad murder accused, Raj Kumar, who allegedly killed six people, including a minor girl, in Ranga Reddy district, was found dead near Kothur on Monday. Chevella DCP Yogesh Gautam confirmed that police recovered the body from Panjarl village in Kothur mandal.

According to the DCP, local residents alerted police after spotting a body under suspicious circumstances at a venture near Kothur. Meanwhile, police rushed to the spot, took custody of the body and launched an investigation.

Yogesh Gautam confirmed that the deceased was Raj Kumar. He said the preliminary investigation suggested Raj Kumar consumed poison before his death. Police also recovered a poison bottle from the scene.

Further, investigators collected forensic evidence and are examining all possible angles. Police sent the body for a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.

The six murders in Shabad triggered widespread outrage across Telangana. Additionally, police launched an intensive manhunt to trace Raj Kumar after the killings. The search concluded with the recovery of his body near Kothur on Monday.
