Hyderabad: Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju reviewed Telangana’s preparations for the upcoming Southern Zonal Council meeting. He directed departments to finalise the state’s agenda before the August 20 meeting at Mahabalipuram in Chennai.
Chairing a preliminary review meeting at the Secretariat, Jaju examined the issues proposed for discussion. Moreover, he instructed departments to thoroughly scrutinise all agenda items concerning Telangana.
The Chief Secretary directed the Planning Department to identify important inter-state and regional issues for discussion at the Council meeting. He also asked departments to review pending matters. They must prepare replies within the next few days.
Southern Zonal Council preparations reviewed
Meanwhile, Jaju stressed the need for close coordination among departments. He instructed officials to finalise Telangana’s submissions and recommendations. The proposals should then be submitted to the Chief Minister for further guidance.
Senior officials Vikas Raj, Sabyasachi Ghosh, Gaurav Uppal, E. Sridhar, Christina Zongthu and representatives of other departments attended the meeting. During the review, they briefed the Chief Secretary on the agenda items. They also updated him on the preparatory work for the Southern Zonal Council meeting.
