CM Revanth sets two-year deadline for Osmania hospital completion

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has set a two-year deadline for completing the construction of the new Osmania General Hospital, instructing officials to fast-track the project and ensure world-class healthcare facilities.

At a high-level review held at his residence on Wednesday, Revanth Reddy assessed the status of civil works and the procurement of advanced medical equipment. He directed officials to procure all necessary equipment aligned with the design of the new hospital and asked engineering teams to design suitable infrastructure such as rooms and labs to support installation and operations.

To avoid delays, the Chief Minister announced the formation of a coordination committee comprising officials from the medical and health department, police, GHMC, R&B, and electricity boards. The committee will conduct field inspections and meet every 10 days to resolve issues and maintain execution pace.

Revanth also emphasized the need for comprehensive road connectivity around the hospital to reduce local inconvenience and traffic congestion. He asked R&B officials to prepare a road development plan connecting all nearby access routes.

June 2026 target for Osmania and all under-construction hospitals

For security and crowd management, Revanth directed senior police officials to devise plans for deploying personnel and managing traffic at the site. The state will also appoint a senior officer to supervise the construction at each hospital and medical college currently under development, including those in Hyderabad.

All such projects are expected to be completed by June 2026, the Chief Minister added.

Top officials including Principal Secretaries V. Seshadri and Srinivasa Raju, CM Secretary Manick Raj, DGP Shivadhar Reddy, and other senior officers such as Vikas Raj, Christina Chongthu, Ilambarthi, Musharraf Ali Farooqui, and Harichandana attended the review meeting.
