369 new EV charging stations to come up in Telangana

Hyderabad: As many as 369 new EV charging stations will be set up across Telangana by private-sector operators. TG Redco has invited tenders for establishing, maintaining, upgrading and commercially operating the charging stations.

TG Redco CMD Farooqui announced the details in a statement on Sunday. He said 200 stations would be established in Hyderabad, while 169 would come up under Uttara DISCOM.

The 369 stations will be developed across six clusters in Greater Hyderabad. Meanwhile, private charging point operators will be responsible for establishing and operating the facilities under the tender process.

The contract will remain in force for 10 years. According to Farooqui, a charging tariff of Rs. 13 per unit will apply at the stations.

The tender process will allow private operators to participate in the development and commercial operation of the charging network. TG Redco has sought operators for establishment, maintenance and upgradation of the proposed facilities.

Of the 369 proposed charging stations, 200 will be located in Hyderabad. The remaining 169 stations will be established under Uttara DISCOM, according to the TG Redco CMD.

The charging stations will operate under a 10-year contractual arrangement. In addition, the tariff has been fixed at Rs. 13 per unit for charging services.

TG Redco has invited private charging point operators to take up the project. The operators will handle establishment, maintenance, upgradation and commercial operations of the new EV charging stations.
