Hyderabad: Telangana BJP president N. Ramchander Rao urged party leaders to counter Congress allegations about the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process. He addressed party leaders, cell convenors, spokespersons and media panellists at the BJP state office in Hyderabad on Saturday.
Rao asked party representatives to challenge what he described as false claims about SIR at the grassroots level. He said the Election Commission had prepared voter lists transparently and in accordance with Supreme Court guidelines.
SIR process debate centres on bogus vote removal claims
Rao rejected Congress allegations concerning the removal of bogus votes. He accused Congress leaders of targeting constitutional institutions following successive election defeats. However, these remarks reflected the BJP state president’s position on the dispute.
He also directed party workers to counter the Congress campaign alleging “vote chori”. In addition, he asked leaders to explain to the public how clean voter lists could benefit democracy.
Rao called on BJP representatives to take the party’s response to the grassroots and challenge Congress claims about the voter list revision. The meeting brought together party leaders and communications representatives to coordinate their response to the SIR controversy.
