Hyderabad: The Ramchander Rao Chiranjeevi meeting attracted attention in political and film circles after the Telangana BJP president met the megastar at his residence in Hyderabad as part of the party’s outreach programme highlighting the Narendra Modi government’s 12 years in office.
According to BJP leaders, the meeting was held under the ‘Mahajan Sampark Abhiyan’, a campaign aimed at reaching prominent personalities and informing them about the Centre’s achievements and welfare initiatives. During the interaction, Ramchander Rao presented Chiranjeevi with a book and brochures detailing the Modi government’s accomplishments over the past 12 years.
Party sources said the two discussed India’s economic growth and progress across various sectors. BJP leaders maintained that the interaction was a courtesy meeting and was intended to brief the actor on the government’s initiatives.
BJP clarifies purpose of Ramchander Rao Chiranjeevi meeting
The Ramchander Rao Chiranjeevi meeting also triggered speculation in political circles regarding the actor’s future role in public life. Chiranjeevi previously served as a Union Minister before stepping away from active politics and focusing on his film career.
However, BJP sources clarified that the meeting should not be viewed as a political development and reiterated that it was part of the party’s nationwide outreach effort. The clarification came amid discussions on social media about whether Chiranjeevi could return to politics.
The meeting gained additional attention because Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan, Chiranjeevi’s younger brother, is a key ally in the NDA alliance. Even so, no announcement regarding any political role for Chiranjeevi emerged from the interaction.
