Hyderabad: The Cyber Crimes Unit has warned citizens to remain vigilant against fake social media accounts created by fraudsters to cheat people online.
Officials said cyber criminals often create fake profiles on platforms such as Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp.
They use these accounts to impersonate friends, relatives, public figures or government officials.
The fraudsters then attempt to extract money or obtain sensitive personal information from unsuspecting victims.
