Hyderabad: Raghuram Rajan emphasised Raghuram Rajan skills development as key to expanding employment opportunities across sectors.
He made the remarks at a meeting on Telangana’s future planning chaired by A. Revanth Reddy at his Jubilee Hills residence.
Raghuram Rajan skills focus highlighted
Rajan said improving skills would create jobs in multiple sectors. He also stressed the need to address malnutrition to strengthen human resources.
Further, he said ease of doing business plays a crucial role in attracting investments. He suggested stronger support for startups to boost economic growth.
He also proposed adopting an industrial policy similar to Tamil Nadu. He said such measures would help draw more industries to the state.
Raghuram Rajan skills and AI integration
Rajan said proper use of artificial intelligence would benefit all sections of society. Meanwhile, the Chief Minister requested him to help form a committee on AI integration in education.
The proposal covers school, higher, technical, and medical education. In addition, the state plans to establish a Skills University and Advanced Training Centres.
Rajan noted that data centres require significant electricity and water resources. He said he would visit Hyderabad in the coming months.
Officials outline Raghuram Rajan skills roadmap
Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said Telangana has strong infrastructure for industrial growth. He cited land availability and key facilities.
He added that the government is expanding power generation to meet future demand. He also highlighted projects like the airport, Outer Ring Road, and planned Regional Ring Roads.
Further, he said the state is developing industrial clusters. He added that initiatives such as the Young India Skills University aim to improve youth employability.
Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu said Telangana offers a favourable environment for business. He said infrastructure supports sectors like pharma, IT, and data centres.
