President’s Telangana sojourn scheduled for December 17–21

Hyderabad: President Droupadi Murmu will stay at Rashtrapati Nilayam during her winter visit to Telangana from December 17 to 21, Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao announced on Thursday.

During a review meeting with senior officials at the Secretariat, the Chief Secretary instructed all departments to work in close coordination and ensure seamless arrangements for the President’s visit. He asked central and state departments, along with Rashtrapati Nilayam authorities, to jointly plan every requirement.

To strengthen security, the police and traffic wings will prepare detailed bandobust and traffic management plans. The Fire Department will deploy sufficient personnel, fire tenders, and equipment, while a dedicated medical team will remain on standby throughout the visit.

Special teams to address wildlife and civic issues

The Roads and Buildings Department will install barricades and manage other logistical needs. Additionally, the GHMC and police will take up road repair works. The Electricity Department must also ensure uninterrupted power supply.

As part of special arrangements, the Chief Secretary instructed officials to station a 24-hour snake-catching team at Rashtrapati Nilayam. GHMC will form teams to handle the monkey menace and keep bee-catching units ready in case of emergencies.

Sajjanar, Energy Department Principal Secretary Naveen Mittal, Political Secretary E. Sridhar, Additional DGP Mahesh Bhagwat, GHMC Commissioner R.V. Karnan, Fire Services Director General Vikram Singh Mann, Special Commissioner of Information and Public Relations Ch. Priyanka, and Protocol Director Shivalingaiah, among others.
