He issued the instructions during a district-level review meeting chaired by Collector Harichandana at the Hyderabad Collectorate.

The Minister emphasised that departments must work with coordination and commitment to keep Hyderabad at the forefront of welfare delivery. Given the city’s rapid urban growth, migration trends, and service-led economy, he called for targeted planning across sectors like education, health, housing, transport, and public safety.

City-wide review covers housing, transport, health, education

Minister Ponnam reviewed a broad range of schemes including pensions, welfare for senior citizens and persons with disabilities, 2BHK housing, ration cards, and fine rice distribution. He also assessed implementation of education schemes like residential schools, hostels, Mid-Day Meals, and Anganwadis.

Other welfare programmes under review included Shaadi Mubarak, Kalyana Lakshmi, Aarogyasri, Basti Dawakhanas, and public health services. He examined urban transport, RTC connectivity, and the Mahalaxmi scheme for free bus travel for women.
