Hyderabad: Telangana minister Ponnam Prabhakar said the state government is developing Telangana in a planned manner and expressed confidence that the Congress party would secure a majority of seats in the upcoming municipal elections.
Ponnam Prabhakar offered special prayers at the Sri Gidde Perumandla Swamy temple in Karimnagar on Thursday. Later, he spoke to the media and outlined the government’s welfare measures despite financial constraints.
He criticised the previous BRS government and said it had failed to provide even a single house to beneficiaries. In contrast, he said the present Congress government introduced Indiramma houses, ration cards, free bus travel for women, loans, and Indiramma canteens.
He further alleged that the Centre was attempting to weaken the rural employment guarantee scheme. Additionally, he warned that the government would take legal action against anyone who insulted women officers.
