Papanna Goud hailed as warrior who fought for social equality

Hyderabad: Papanna Goud’s fight for social equality and the rights of oppressed sections reflected his courage and leadership, TPCC president and MLC Mahesh Kumar Goud said on Monday.

He was speaking at the Sardar Sarvai Papanna Goud Jayanti celebrations at Ravindra Bharati in Hyderabad. The Sardar Sarvai Papanna Maharaj Dharma Paripalana Samstha and Jai Goud Movement National Committee jointly organised the event.

Mahesh Kumar Goud paid floral tributes to the portrait of the historical figure. He described him as a great warrior and a leader who stood up for ordinary people.

The TPCC chief said the leader fought against social and economic inequalities of his time. He also worked to protect the dignity and rights of oppressed sections.

Society had a responsibility to bring the contributions and history of such figures before the public, he said. Their stories should also reach future generations.

The TPCC chief called for the ideals represented by Papanna Goud to translate into action. He urged people to preserve his legacy and ensure that younger generations learned about his contribution.

Mahesh Kumar Goud particularly appealed to the youth to study his life and history. He asked them to draw inspiration from his courage, self-respect and leadership qualities.
