Hyderabad: Rachakonda Police Commissioner Sudheer Babu on Wednesday called for peaceful and incident-free New Year celebrations. At the outset, he made it clear that DJ boxes and fireworks will not be allowed at outdoor events.
During a coordination meeting with pub, bar, restaurant, farmhouse and event organisers, the Commissioner urged stakeholders to act responsibly. He stressed that organisers must ensure celebrations do not lead to untoward incidents.
To maintain law and order, police will deploy special teams across Rachakonda limits. These teams will include Traffic Police, Special Operations Team personnel, She Teams and regular patrol units.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner warned organisers against overcrowding at venues, sale of liquor to minors and drug abuse. In addition, he cautioned against indecent dance programmes. He added that police will strictly enforce drunk driving laws and ensure liquor outlets close within stipulated hours.
New Year rules include flyover closures and strict checks
As part of the enforcement plan, Sudheer Babu said police will temporarily close select flyovers to curb midnight racing. He also said organisers must install CCTV cameras and ensure proper parking arrangements, particularly at farmhouse events.
Finally, he cautioned that police will take strict action against organisers and individuals who violate the New Year rules. He reiterated that public safety will remain the top priority during the celebrations.
