Hyderabad: The Nizamabad MP Arvind Dharmapuri asked the Centre to curb gangs that trap unemployed youth abroad under the guise of foreign jobs. MP raised the issue in Parliament on Thursday and noted that agents lured young people from the Telugu states with promises of work in Thailand. He said these agents collected large sums from the unemployed and then abandoned them.
According to Arvind Dharmapuri, many youths had their passports seized on arrival. As a result, they faced threats and physical abuse. He explained that the situation worsened because some members of the local militia and military accepted bribes and aided these criminal networks.
