HYDERABAD: MLC Kodandaram has accused the Central Government of denying Telangana its rightful share of Krishna river waters, alleging that the state is being misled on water allocation. Speaking at a press conference in Hyderabad on Friday, he emphasized that water distribution was a key issue in the Telangana movement and criticized the Centre for withholding Telangana’s fair entitlement.
Criticism of BRS Leadership
Kodandaram also directed sharp criticism at Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leaders, accusing them of remaining silent on the Krishna river water dispute during their decade-long rule. He remarked that those who ignored the issue while in power are now raising concerns only after moving to the opposition. According to him, the past inaction of BRS leaders has significantly contributed to the current water crisis in Telangana.
TJS’s Role in Elections
Speaking on recent elections, Kodandaram reaffirmed that the Telangana Jana Samithi (TJS) would hold the Congress party accountable for fulfilling its promises to the public. He also revealed that the Congress has sought TJS’s support in the ongoing MLC elections in Telangana, highlighting a possible political alignment between the two parties.
