Khammam: Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka chaired a key review meeting in Khammam district on Thursday, targeting priorities like paddy procurement, monsoon crop preparations, seed quality, fertiliser stocks, Indiramma housing, land reforms, and public healthcare. Held at Khammam’s District Collectorate, the meeting brought together district in-charge minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, cabinet colleagues Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy and Tummala Nageswara Rao, plus local MPs, MLAs, and senior officials.
Deputy CM Bhatti urged officials to plan major Telangana Formation Day events for June 2 at all constituency headquarters, showcasing the state’s welfare and development gains. He highlighted Khammam and Kothagudem districts’ top performance in paddy procurement, with 65 lakh metric tonnes collected from farmers and payments due within a week. For housing, he outlined a goal of 3,500 Indiramma homes per constituency to fulfill public housing needs.

Bhatti pushed for top-notch seeds, declaring harsh penalties for anyone selling fakes. He confirmed the controversial Dharani law’s repeal, unveiling the simpler Bhoo Bharati system, which kicks off a trial in Errupalem mandal on June 3. For stronger governance, he pressed departments to pick up their pace. He also demanded consistent medicine supplies for public hospitals and a sharper focus on rolling out the Aarogyasri healthcare scheme to help people.
