Hyderabad: Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy described the appointment of licensed surveyors as a Diwali gift for Telangana’s farmers, saying it marks a shift from past dissatisfaction to future assurance.
At an event held at Shilpa Kalavedika, where Chief Minister Revanth Reddy handed out official licenses, Ponguleti said the Congress government is correcting the land record errors inherited from the previous regime. A total of 3,456 candidates have received licenses after completing training.
Licensed surveyors Diwali gift: Over 3,000 trained for field service
Out of nearly 10,000 applicants from BC, EBC, SC, and ST communities, the government trained 7,000 individuals. Among them, 3,456 were selected after field-level assessments. Ponguleti noted that these new surveyors will play a critical role in restoring public trust in land governance.
He also highlighted the mishandling of land records under the GPO system. “We’ve received 9.80 lakh applications related to land issues, and we are resolving them in a phased manner,” he said.
Ponguleti urged the new license holders to work with integrity and stay aligned with public interest. “Your work must reflect the same happiness you felt receiving your licenses. That’s how you build trust,” he said.
