Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Friday urged newly recruited Grama Palana Officers (GPOs) to restore the image of Telangana’s revenue system by working with transparency and integrity. He handed over appointment orders to 5,106 officers during the Koluvula Panduga event at Hitex.
Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy administered an oath to the recruits. They pledged to carry out land-related duties with honesty and commitment.
Revanth Reddy urges new GPOs to erase corruption stigma
The Chief Minister said earlier governments had portrayed revenue staff as corrupt and ineffective. He called on the new GPOs to disprove those claims by ensuring transparent governance. “Even a small mistake can tarnish the government’s reputation. You must implement the Bhu Bharati Act and regularise sada bainama transactions carefully. This is not just a job; it is about self-respect and public trust,” he said.
He also recalled the contributions of teachers, RTC workers, Singareni staff, and revenue employees during the Telangana movement. According to him, the previous administration weakened Panchayati Raj and revenue systems while branding staff as “thieves.”

Bhu Bharati Act 2025 to replace Dharani
Revanth Reddy said the Dharani portal had turned into a “nightmare” for citizens. The Congress government, he added, scrapped it soon after taking power. “We dedicated the Bhu Bharati Act – 2025 to four crore people of Telangana. With expert advice, we corrected past mistakes, cleansed records of 1.56 lakh acres, and made them public,” he noted.
He stressed that land had always been central to Telangana’s struggles. From battles against Nizams and Razakars to land reforms under Indira Gandhi and PV Narasimha Rao, land remained a symbol of justice. “For people here, the bond with land is as strong as that between a mother and child,” he said.
Leaders, officials attend ceremony

MP Suresh Kumar Shetkar, PAC Chairman Arekapudi Gandhi, several MLAs, MLCs, and other representatives were also present.
