Hyderabad: State Planning Board Vice Chairman G. Chinna Reddy demanded an unconditional apology from BJP MP Tejasvi Surya over Tejasvi Surya remarks on Telangana’s formation.
He said the remarks were unforgivable and insulted a democratic process. He also accused the BJP of being anti-Telangana.
Chinna Reddy reacted after Surya compared the bifurcation of Telangana with the India-Pakistan partition. He said the comparison was offensive and unacceptable.
“My blood boils seeing BJP’s attitude,” Chinna Reddy said. He added that the party had never supported Telangana statehood.
He said the Telangana movement was led by people from all sections. Students, employees and civil society groups took part in it.
He added that Telangana was achieved under Sonia Gandhi’s leadership. He said Parliament later approved the state’s formation.
Chinna Reddy targets Tejasvi Surya remarks
Chinna Reddy also criticised BJP leaders from Telangana for staying silent on the issue. He questioned their commitment to the state.
He said BJP must clarify its position on Telangana’s formation. He also said Surya should apologise in Parliament.
According to Chinna Reddy, silence from Telangana BJP leaders had raised serious questions. He said their response did not reflect the state’s interests.
