KTR seeks probe into POCSO case delay allegations

Hyderabad: Senior BRS leader and MLA K.T. Rama Rao accused the Telangana government of delaying action in a POCSO case and demanded an inquiry into the handling of the matter.

Addressing reporters in Hyderabad on Friday, KTR alleged that the accused, who is the son of Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar, received protection for nine days before arrest.

He claimed the arrest took place only after the High Court denied relief to the accused and public pressure increased.

According to KTR, the victim’s family faced intimidation during the period following the complaint.

He also alleged that authorities filed a counter-case against the family instead of taking immediate action against the accused.

POCSO case delay triggers political attack

KTR criticised Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy over reports that police were occupied with the Prime Minister’s visit.

He termed the explanation “shameful” and accused the Chief Minister and Bandi Sanjay of conspiring to shield the accused.

Furthermore, the BRS leader sought an investigation into allegations that the accused was sheltered in a hospital linked to associates of the Chief Minister.

KTR said the matter required a transparent inquiry to establish accountability.

POCSO case delay sparks media criticism

The BRS leader also condemned “honey trap” narratives circulated in sections of the media regarding the case.

He demanded accountability from individuals and organisations spreading such claims.

Moreover, KTR maintained that the BRS raised the issue only to ensure justice for the victim.

He asserted that the party was not attempting to derive political benefit from the controversy.
