KTR dares Congress to confront Revanth over past Gandhi family remarks

Hyderabad: BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao on Thursday challenged Congress leaders to confront Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy over past remarks against the Gandhi family, accusing them of shielding their own leader while targeting the opposition.

Responding to criticism over his recent comments on Rahul Gandhi, KTR said Congress leaders had no moral right to object. “Don’t question my words. If you have political courage, confront Revanth Reddy who abused the Gandhi family,” he said.

KTR cites Revanth’s past insults to Gandhi family

He reminded the Congress that it was Revanth Reddy who had previously referred to Rahul Gandhi as “Mudda Pappu” and made derogatory remarks about Sonia Gandhi. “I only repeated what your own Chief Minister said. Why didn’t you object then?” he asked, calling the party’s stance hypocritical.

KTR asserted that the BRS would continue to hold both Rahul Gandhi and Revanth Reddy accountable for the promises made under the Congress government’s Six Guarantees. He said the people of Telangana were still waiting for concrete answers on implementation.

Shifting focus to municipal politics, KTR urged BRS cadres to prepare for the upcoming GHMC elections. He highlighted that the previous BRS government executed development projects worth ₹9,700 crore in Hyderabad and called for taking that record to every voter.

He also criticised the Congress for allegedly demolishing homes of the people whose income in Sherlingampally under the Hydraa project. He accused the government of cancelling key development initiatives and betraying the city’s growth.

Earlier, senior leader Gutta Narendra Yadav joined the BRS along with hundreds of supporters at Telangana Bhavan in the presence of KTR.
