Hyderabad: BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao accused the Congress of cheating youth with false promises of jobs and warned that the party had delivered nothing but betrayal during its rule.
Speaking at a municipal election campaign in Tandur, Vikarabad district, KTR said the Congress government had failed to deliver on any of the six guarantees it made before the Assembly elections. “They promised action in 100 days. But two and a half years later, people are still suffering,” he said.
At a corner meeting in Indira Chowk, KTR criticised the state’s handling of urea supply. “Farmers are now forced to leave their slippers in queue lines while waiting for fertiliser. Under BRS, such shortages never occurred,” he said.

False promises, missing benefits spark public anger, says KTR
KTR alleged that Revanth Reddy made big claims but failed to implement them. “There’s no Bathukamma saree, no KCR kit. Not even Rythu Bandhu for the February 8 cycle,” he said. He also slammed the Congress for backtracking on financial promises.
“They said ₹4,000 pensions would be given to the elderly. Did your mother-in-law and daughter-in-law get the promised ₹2,500 each?” he asked. He listed other unfulfilled assurances like one tola of gold for brides, Vidya Bharosa, unemployment allowance, and scooters for women.
He described these as “bogus guarantees” and said the public was fooled. “They showed heaven in their palm but offered destruction instead,” he said, likening Congress promises to “Bhasmasura’s hand.”
KTR also condemned the use of police cases against those who question the government. “We are not afraid. We will keep asking until every one of those 420 promises is fulfilled,” he said.
He warned voters not to fall for lies again in the municipal elections. “If you get cheated once, it’s their fault. If you fall for it again, it’s yours,” KTR concluded.
